Mt. Diablo Waterfalls & Wildflowers Hike

March 18 and June 3, 2012

Spring is beautiful in Hiking at Mt Diablo with the Outdoor Adventure Club the hills around the Bay Area, and the wildflowers and waterfalls around Mt Diablo make it that much more spectacular.

There are 3 distinct waterfalls along the way, plenty of stream crossings to give you the sense of adventure, and lots of wildflowers. The total hike is about 5.5 miles, but we could easily add on another mile or two with some side trail action if the group is interested.

Although the distance is a bit shorter than our usual hikes, the total elevation gain is 1840 feet, giving you a workout you'll enjoy. Thus, it is a moderate hike with most of the elevation gain/loss being pretty gradual.

You'll need to bring:

A recommended gear list will come with your confirmed reservation, but you should generally be prepared with the following:

Clothes appropriate for the weather (avoid wearing cotton)
Appropriate footwear
2 liters of water
A small daypack to hold your water and spare clothing layer
