Hike the Bay Area Ridge Trail in Historic Jack London State Park

Hiking Jack London in Sonoma with the OAC Hike through the woods above Jack London's ranch in Sonoma County, where London lived from 1911 until his death in 1916. This moderate 10.3-mile hike is mostly shaded and traces Sonoma Mountain. This time of year, you can search for wildflowers in the woods and grassland, and in autumn the park's black oaks and bigleaf maples are amazing. Elevations change is mostly gradual, but this is a long hike so be prepared to spend a full day here.

You'll need to bring:

A recommended gear list will come with your confirmed reservation, but you should generally be prepared with the following:

Clothes appropriate for the weather (avoid wearing cotton)
Appropriate footwear
2 liters of water
A small daypack to hold your water and spare clothing layers
Sunscreen
State Park entrance fee per vehicle $8 (carpool!)
