Kayak & Whale Watching at Davenport Landing

Join us for a real adventure; kayaking with Grey Whales. In the spring, the Grey Whales' migration brings them close to our coastline. At Davenport Landing, 10 miles north of Santa Cruz, kayaks can easily access the open ocean and encounter whales very close to shore.
Our tour begins and ends at Davenport. We begin by scouting the sea with binoculars from the cliffs, looking for the spouts of the whales. Once we've spotted whales, we'll paddle out to them. We'll be paddling on our quest for about 2 1/2- 3 hours, then return to shore for a tasty picnic lunch. We will begin this day at 7:30 a.m., when the waters are calmer as this is better for spotting the whales.
Beginners are welcome. Both single and tandem kayaks are available.
