Rock Climbing Beyond Basics at Mt. Tamalpais in Marin

May 20, August 25 and October 6, 2012

Beyond Basics climbing days are designed for anyone who has climbed in the past and can confidently tie in and belay. It doesn't matter if you climb 5.6 or 5.11, we'll get you set up on climbs that challenge you and help you develop your skills. The focus of the day is to give you as much climbing as possible.

Indoor climbers, this is a great opportunity to take your gym skills and apply them to real rock! Mt. Tam has some remote climbing areas know for their incredible views such as the Northern Formation and Oberman's Rock. Our guides will determine where you climb based on the the overall experience of the group.

After climbing you can grab some food with your fellow climbers in Mill Valley. It's a perfect way to finish the day, trade stories from your climbs, and develop new friendships.

Why climb with the Outdoor Adventure Club?
In a word, or four, we are professional guides. Whether you are with Duane, Richard, Heather or Michael, you are spending the day with a guide trained by the American Mountain Guides Association, and certified as Wilderness First Responders. Unlike some "adventure" groups, we don't contract out our climbing. We are your guides. Our focus is not only on taking you out and letting you climb, but setting up the safest climbing situations, and teaching you in a very patient, supportive and friendly manner. Besides safety, OAC guides are knowledgeable of the climbing scene, and eager to help you develop your climbing skills.
